Insole Corrective Pads

Insole Corrective Pads

Insole corrective pads are inserts that fit within a shoe.  They are designed to correct for people whose feet are angled inward or outward.  Outward angled feet result in a greater distance between the knees.  This is a condition known as varus knee and is commonly known as bow-legged.  A shoe insert that tilts the feet inward can compensate for this deformity.  Similarly, inward angled feet result in a smaller distance between the knees.  This is a condition known as valgus knee and is commonly known as knock-kneed.  A shoe insert that tilts the feet outward can compensate for this deformity.

Insole corrective pads can be purchased in standard shapes and sizes from retail stores.  Alternatively, custom pads can be produced by an orthotist, a type of healthcare professional who specialize in the designing and manufacturing of these type of devices.
