In artificial intelligence research, people’s tendency to under-report all the information available.
Medical definition
- In epidemiology, the selective revealing or suppression of information by subjects regarding, e.g., past medical history, smoking, or sexual experiences.
- In research, the failure to publish the results of clinical trials that do not support the hypotheses of the researchers or the aims of the funders, or to include specific outcomes that do not support efficacy, or to cite or pool clinical trials that contradict a predetermined conclusion.
